While Rotheimer has never held a public office before, she has been on the committee for the legislative breakfast and involved in the legislative process for the past five years working on a bill holding elected officials accountable. She has a strong desire to make government more efficient and transparent to the taxpayers.

"I'm going to go into office with the views of the people in my mind," Rotheimer said. "The taxpayers can expect their voices to be heard first of all. Whatever concerns they have, I will be accessible to them and address their concerns to the board and work with the appropriate people to put together a bill or program to provide them with relief."

Rotheimer said she has heard from people that are upset with the way things are at the county level and that they don't have a voice. Her goal is to work toward making the changes that will allow taxpayers to have confidence in the County Board.
